Jewelry Display Plinths

We made these plinths for Clasped, http://www.facebook.com/Clasped. The quality of Clasped's products are outstanding so we needed to make display items that are simple and draw attention to the product. Can't wait to see them in action.

Coffee Beans

Laser cutters are both a blessing and a curse. Everywhere I go I see things and think "oooh, i wonder how that would look lasered?". And while it is very exciting to be so versatile, it isn't always conducive with sitting down and concentrating on real work! Every now and again though the results of these experiments look particularly amazing, like, for example, these coffee beans. They are engraved with the logo for 3fe (3fe.com) the best coffee shop in all of Ireland.

Another secret

Well it seems like all I am doing these days are hush-hush projects. I can show you all of this one, I just can't tell you what it is for. This one is a star shape with 12 points. Made entirely of paper, using what are now becoming my classic colours. This was very very fun to make, these photos show the stages in the process of making the star.

Shelves for The Irish Design Shop

So our good friends at the Irish Design Shop were in need of some shelves for displaying jewelry in the shop. They gave me a pretty open brief - a collection of small wall-mounted shelves in a collection of shapes. After a few concept designs I came up with an overall plan for all 12 shelves. The girls got them up on the wall last week, and they look really great if I do say so myself. I love projects like this, I love having a design challenge and some diversity in my work.

it's still a secret

Well I still cannot reveal what my secret project is. I can give you one more glimpse though, and I can confirm that it is for sale in a shop in Dublin....

Secret Project

So I have been working on a secret project over the last week. Something that I have really enjoyed. It involved making 150 tiny paper cubes and a really nice box. (of course I'm going to enjoy a project that is all about making boxes!!) I can't reveal what the project is right now, but here are some teaser photos of the box and the cubes.

A cake for Mum

So I got a cake for my Mum this week and thought it could do with a little razzle dazzle on the box. So expanding on the Mike gifts that got this blog started I decided to play with layers of colours and cover the box in little paper bunting and lots of layered paper.

The cake was delicious!

a few more birdhouses

So I finally got around to taking some photos of the birdhouses in use, cheering up a plant.
